Strawberries

Riverford Specification

Health & Safety

Some days in strawberry season are super hot. Come prepared with whatever you need to stay safe, including water, hats, sunglasses, additional loose & light layers to keep the sun off your skin, and high factor suncream.

It’s important to take regular breaks for a good stretch, a drink and snack if you need it.

Baddaford is a steep farm, and the paths between the strawberry beds are covered in black plastic (to suppress weeds), so these can be slippery, especially when wet. Appropriate footwear should be worn to help avoid slips, falls, or turned ankles.

Crates can get heavy, especially when it has been raining. Don’t lift more weight than you feel comfortable and ask for help if something feels too heavy. Use good lifting practices as outlined here:
